Finland's Secret Fly Fishing Paradise
Fly fishing in North Savo is a hidden gem that pairs pristine boreal forest scenery with fast-paced fishing, plus surprising accessibility and low fishing pressure.
A typical day means wading forest streams and fishing a mix of streamers, dry flies, and nymphs. During daylight we focus on smaller water with quality grayling and wild brown trout, and you may also run into species like ide and roach.
Later, when conditions line up, we shift to bigger water and fish streamers for predatory brown trout and pike with the midnight sun still overhead.
When to come
The forests of North Savo offer fantastic fly fishing from June to September. Mid June will offer true 24/7 sunlight, but the whole summer offers fantastic fly fishing opportunities.
