Private Saltwater Fly Fishing Guiding in Kristiansand
Reviews - 50+ Guests Served
"Had 3 EPIC days saltwater fly fishing in Kristiansand, Norway. Frej, my guide, was spot on- took me to lots of locations, proper wild fishing. Lost count of the fish I caught, pretty much every species in the area. Thanks again for a fantastic trip. One of, if not the best, guided fishing trips I have been on."

"Kristiansand is a beautiful place. Stunning, clear water, rugged, awesome coastline… Frej put us onto fish everywhere we went, and is a fun character to be around. He went over and above, spending more time with us than he really had to... Absolutely five stars."

"I spent 3 days with Frej chasing pollock & sea trout on the fly. Had a great trip getting on some great fish. Frej knows his way on the water and he’s a great guy to be around! Highly recommend for anyone looking to become a better angler!"

Scott B. (Guest, U.S.)
After 45 minutes of learning to cast, I soon caught my first ever fish on the fly, and then another! Many more pollack were caught that day. It was only supposed to be a half-day, but Frej stuck with me for basically the whole day. All I can say is thanks!"

From June to September, the Southern coast of Norway offers an incredible opportunity to experience saltwater fly fishing for species like pollack, cod, sea trout, mackerel, and wrasse.
In this privately guided experience, we will explore the rugged coastline for diverse fishing opportunities, such as hunting the rocky marks for pollack and cod (which can reach up to ~5 kg.) or opportunistically sight fishing fickle sea trout from elevated vantage points. The fishing action is fast-paced and you can typically anticipate productive and memorable fishing days.
Pollack (Pollachius Pollachius)
Our staple fly fishing species- abundant, hard fighting, and tasty. A trophy fish from shore in our area would be roughly 5 kilos.
Atlantic Cod (Gadus Morhua)
The Atlantic cod grows to similar sizes as the pollack, though not as abundant. Otherwise, these species have a lot in common, from their size to their preferences.
Sea Trout (Salmo Trutta Trutta)
Schools of sea trout will often appear in the gin clear water below, presenting an exciting and challenging opportunity for sight fishing that will push your skills to the limit!
Ballan Wrasse (Labrus bergylta)
The ballan wrasse is mostly caught on rough days in pollock spots. You'll think you hooked into a fish 3 times their size!
Cuckoo Wrasse (Labrus mixtus)
The male cuckoo wrasse is stunningly beautiful, featuring a mixture of blue, black, and orange.
Mackerel (Scomber scombrus)
Present in large schools in the later summer, the mackerel swarm will sporadically appear, causing a frenzy of intense fights.
More species are present, but we focus on these.
This private experience includes expert guiding suitable for all skill levels, even total beginners. At least 2 #7 fully outfitted fly rods can be loaned at no additional cost. However, we can often provide up to 4.
One fly is included per person per day. Each fly after that costs €2, which you can settle at the end of the trip. Lunch is not included. (Why?)
Q: Do I need to bring my waders?
A: We do not do any wading for this experience, so you can leave your wading gear at home.
Q: How difficult is the fishing?
A: With our skilled guide at your side, it is fairly beginner friendly, and we can accommodate all skill levels assuming a learning mindset. However, some species and conditions are more skill demanding than others. The fishing is generally very fast paced, but it can occasionally slow down.
Lucas is available for booking on any weekend from July 1st to September 20th. In some cases, there is a minimum booking period of 2 guiding days.
